Your impact is your purpose.

Our father, Michael T. Trummer also widely known as Mike or Mouse was one of the special ones. He was blessed with an innate gift of making people feel seen and heard. It didn’t matter who he encountered. He would make sure to ask how their day was. He made it his mission to connect with people because he knew, what we all too often forget, that our relationships and the good we share in the world is what will be left when our day comes. It is our vision to continue what he started which is creating a positive impact in the lives of those who need it most.

Growing up on D St. in the heart of old town South Omaha, our father loved the neighborhood that raised him and the people that made up the community. Many of these people remained his closest friends throughout his life. The memories he made within the blocks and establishments that make up South Omaha were his greatest treasures. They were his source of happiness and laughter even in some of the darkest times of his life. They were what he returned to; they were his home.

After attending South High School from 1971-1975, our father went on to explore the possibilities that the world had to offer. His curiosities took him to the University of Nebraska at Omaha and even across the globe to the Great Wall of China. His heart was always in South Omaha, but his spirit led him to explore the world and its people. He was so proud of his journeys around the world, it allowed his endless desire for learning and connection to flourish.

Throughout the sixty-five years of our father’s life two things are clear, we are all capable of greatness and if you try your hardest this greatness will come. This scholarship foundation is dedicated to assisting others in discovering their greatness.
